Prospectors,

We had another great week on campus! I am proud of our student body for quickly settling into their new routines! Below are some important reminders and information for the week ahead.

-While not as hot as previous years, we still have many days ahead with extreme heat. Please send your student to school with a water bottle for hydration. Bus riders should fill their bottle before boarding the bus at the end of the day.

-Our district communication tool is called ParentSquare. Teachers use ParentSquare to send class messages, and coaches and club sponsors will use it to send messages to their groups. Whole-school communications will also be sent through ParentSquare, so please ensure your contact information is up to date with the school.

-Student Chromebooks were distributed the first week of school. I encourage you to sign up for the Device Protection Plan. The $35 fee now can save you significant costs later in the event of a damaged Chromebook. The fee can be paid online or in the front office.

-Tube and short tops that reveal the stomach are not allowed at school. Students will be sent to the nurse to change their tops, or they may call home to have an alternative top brought to school.

-The students did a great job putting their cell phones away during class time, the first eight days. Continue reminding students that cell phones are not allowed from the bell to the end of class, including when coming and going to the restroom.

-Fall pictures will be held on July 28th in ELA classes. Forms for pre-ordering and more information will be sent home this week.

I am thrilled to be the Prospector Principal for a new year and look forward to seeing the great things our students will accomplish this year!

Mark your calendars — Picture Day is Monday, the 28th! Students are encouraged to dress to impress while staying within the school dress code. This is an excellent opportunity to capture a lasting memory, so don’t forget to bring your best smile!

To ensure all our students have an excellent academic start, we would like to remind you of the valuable academic support available to them. Teachers offer office hours before and/or after school, as well as after-school tutoring. We strongly encourage students to take advantage of these opportunities and talk with their teacher to schedule time for extra help, review, or enrichment.

To support participation, we offer after-school transportation via the tutor bus. This service ensures that students can stay after school for tutoring and still get home safely.

However, to ensure transportation is available and properly scheduled, students must notify their teacher by 10:00 AM on the day they plan to stay that they need the tutor bus. This gives us time to process the request and coordinate with transportation services.

We appreciate your partnership in helping our students succeed. Please encourage your child to reach out to their teachers about tutoring opportunities and communicate their transportation needs early.

late pass

Every minute of learning is valuable. To support all students in making the most of their classes, students who arrive late will be sent to the sweep for the class period and will need to make up the missed time after school. This includes arriving late in the morning without a parent. Your support is appreciated in fostering a consistent and productive learning environment.

Counselor's Corner

Apache Junction Logo

Hello AJHS Families,

We are off to a great start! Counseling has been busy with schedule change requests, and Friday, 7/25, was the last day to submit a schedule change form. Thank you for your patience while we processed each request.

Kimberly Ellitott and Tayle Brink from the CAC were on campus Wednesday to meet with dual-enrolled students. Our representatives ensured registration and accounts had been set up correctly. If your son/daughter is taking a course through CAC, be sure to double-check their account.

As a reminder, CAC dual enrollment classes begin on August 18th.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to get in touch with the counselors: Mrs. Powell and Ms. Fritsche.

Dress Code Reminders

We must stay mindful of our student dress code as the weather heats up. Student tops should have straps and cover the stomach. No tube tops or strapless tops are permitted. Students violating the dress code can call home for a change of clothes or borrow a shirt from the nurse for the day. Thank you for your help!
