Prospectors,
We had another great week on campus! I am proud of our student body for quickly settling into their new routines! Below are some important reminders and information for the week ahead.
-While not as hot as previous years, we still have many days ahead with extreme heat. Please send your student to school with a water bottle for hydration. Bus riders should fill their bottle before boarding the bus at the end of the day.
-Our district communication tool is called ParentSquare. Teachers use ParentSquare to send class messages, and coaches and club sponsors will use it to send messages to their groups. Whole-school communications will also be sent through ParentSquare, so please ensure your contact information is up to date with the school.
-Student Chromebooks were distributed the first week of school. I encourage you to sign up for the Device Protection Plan. The $35 fee now can save you significant costs later in the event of a damaged Chromebook. The fee can be paid online or in the front office.
-Tube and short tops that reveal the stomach are not allowed at school. Students will be sent to the nurse to change their tops, or they may call home to have an alternative top brought to school.
-The students did a great job putting their cell phones away during class time, the first eight days. Continue reminding students that cell phones are not allowed from the bell to the end of class, including when coming and going to the restroom.
-Fall pictures will be held on July 28th in ELA classes. Forms for pre-ordering and more information will be sent home this week.
I am thrilled to be the Prospector Principal for a new year and look forward to seeing the great things our students will accomplish this year!
