AJHSDRESS CODE POLICY
- Clothing, hats, or accessories which advertise, display, promote, and/or suggest any drug, alcohol, tobacco, sexual activity, violence, obscenities, disrespect and/or bigotry are not allowed.
- Clothing, hats, bandanas, do-rags, hairnets, or accessories that express gang membership, affiliation, or cause a student or staff member to feel insulted, demeaned, threatened, intimidated or harassed are not allowed.
- Clothing, jewelry, or accessories that are a safety hazard including, but not limited to, spiked jewelry, excessive wallet chains, and excessive clothing straps are not allowed.
- Clothing must cover the abdomen, chest/cleavage; back, genital areas, and buttocks area. When standing, tops must completely cover the midriff to the skirt, short, or pant waistline.
- Straps of all shirts, tops, and dresses shall be at least 1½" wide and armholes are no lower than 2 inches from the armpit.
- All undergarments must be covered.
- No see-through clothing is allowed, unless the clothing underneath follows the dress code policy.
- Dress, skirts, and shorts must be at mid-thigh in length or extend to the tip of the student’s fingers.
- Sunglasses and hats are not permitted in the classroom unless for medical purposes.
- Shoes must be worn at all times.
